Introduction to the Mazda2 / Demio Hatchback

Mazda recently unveiled the all-new Demio / Mazda2 hatchback. This innovative car will eventually carry the Mazda2 tag for global markets. At the unveiling event, only the 5-door hatchback was showcased, but it was confirmed that a sedan version will also be available.

Design and Dimensions

Thanks to renderings from TheOphilusChin, we now have a clear idea of what the sedan will look like.

Typically, compact sedans are small and may lack sufficient room for passengers. However, the Mazda2 seems to defy expectations. The hatchback version measures 2570 mm in length, which is comparable to the VW Golf, suggesting that leg space in the sedan is expected to be ample.
