Launched at the Malja Art Space on Amwaj Avenue in Bahrain, the Q2 is the smallest crossover in the brand’s line-up and one that shares its underpinnings with the A3 sedan. The use of Audi’s modular MQB platform helps in keeping costs and weight at bay.

With painting sessions, beatboxers, a Red Bull bar, and food decoration workshops injecting a dose of excitement to the event, the launch of the Audi Q2 well encapsulated the vehicle’s trendy appeal.

Broad shoulders and angular styling helps in connoting the compact SUV’s energy and confidence, while the low roofline and high window line give it a coupe-like stance.

Technology comes in the form of a Wi-Fi hotspot, Audi’s Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster, a Head-Up Display, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Asist, and Parallel Park Assist.

With short overhangs and 15 cm of ground clearance, the Audi Q2’s 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with cylinder deactivation technology, produces 150 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque while being mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic.

Prices stand at AED 155,000 with a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder unit and larger 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine expected to join the line-up soon.
