Porsche recently revealed the new Porsche 911 Turbo S at the 2016 Qatar Motor Show (you can have a look at the full article over here), and today we get to present to you the spy shots for the next generation Porsche 911.

Also, just last year at the Frankfurt Auto Show, the 2017 Porsche 911 was revealed, and even though this may look very similar to the prototypes we saw, but this new 2019 Porsche 911 sports a wider track at both ends. The wheel arch extensions confirm the wider track. Not to be confused, the tires are still the same size as the 2017 911, which is 305/30, so these extensions are not for wider tires.

Even though the all-new 2019 Porsche 911 will not be unveiled until sometime in 2018, but there are some details that are solid enough for us to spill for you. One of those details is that it will sit on a new modular sports car platform that is being developed by the one and only Porsche. This new platform means greater flexibility for positioning the engines and the suspension hardware. And you know what it will enable too? Hybrid technology to the Porsche 911!

The next generations of the Boxster and Cayman will also feature this new platform, and possibly the next generation of the Audi R8, Lamborghini’s Aventador and Huracan as well. These models all are mid-engined, but the Porsche 911 will still have its signature rear-engine, maybe a little closer to the mid, we won’t be surprised!

Power will probably be the same twin-turbocharged 3.0 liter 6-cylinder engine that also debuted in the 2017 911. The current engine delivers 370 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque in the Carrera and 420 horsepower and 368 lb-ft in the Carrera S. We do expect Carrera and Carrera S variants for the 2019 Porsche 911 as well.

Stay tuned for more updates on the 2019 Porsche 911.
