A Car Which Lets You Paint a Portrait of Yourself

No, this is not a dream. These days, hybrid vehicles display different types of data to inform the driver about his/her driving efficiency. Some go to extents of showing cool graphics like trees falling etc. to make the driver aware. Lexus has gone a step further – collaborating with an artist known as Sergio Albiac – and has introduced its new project which lets the car draw the portrait of the driver as per his/her driving style. It’s called Art Is Motion and Lexus has used the IS300h as the campaign car.

This is how the system works. A photograph of the driver is uploaded into the system. Now, using physics of the car like engine speed and how often hybrid system is functional, the portrait is drawn. If the car is driven slow and steadily, the portrait will be realistic and clear. But, if the car is driven at high speed, the brush will go violent and a more abstract portrait will be drawn. This portrait will be drawn on the center display as the car is driven. Also, slow speeds will show ‘colder’ colors while high speeds will display ‘virulent’ colors. You can see the demo video below.
