Al-Futtaim Group has been named as the strategic E-Mobility Partner of the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28). As part of its strategic partnership, the Al-Futtaim Group will provide a fleet of 370 electrified passenger cars, sports utility vehicles (SUVs), and buses for COP28. To support the electrified fleet, Al-Futtaim Group will install its own Charge2Moov electric charging stations at the COP28 venue.

During COP28, Al-Futtaim Automotive, the automotive arm of the group, will have a dedicated stand in the Green Zone. They’ll showcase their range of electric mobility brands and take things up a notch with a virtual reality (VR) automotive showroom experience at their stand.

But that's not all. Al-Futtaim Automotive will be putting the spotlight on their electric mobility training tech for electric vehicle (EV) technicians. Beyond the exhibition, they're going big by hosting key panel conferences on the Green Zone stage. These conferences aim to bring together industry experts and stakeholders for discussions on the crucial aspects of decarbonization in business. Plus, they'll shed light on the sustainable initiatives undertaken by partners throughout their value chain.

Al-Futtaim Automotive looks to deliver 50% new energy vehicles (NEVs) and install 10% of the charging stations in the UAE by 2030. The COP28 event will help it in achieving this target.

Omar Al Futtaim, Vice Chairman and CEO of Al-Futtaim Group, said: “The future of business is inextricably linked with the future of our planet. As a major stakeholder in the business landscape of the UAE, we have a key responsibility to make sure we continue setting strong sustainability targets across all our divisions and continue echoing our country’s aspirations in the climate change agenda.”
