Allison Transmission and Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation join hands for Walk-In Van Program

Allison Transmission has announced that it will be joining forces with the Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation to integrate its Allison 1000 Series™ and 2000 Series™ transmissions into the FCCC’s MT vans. The transmission will be having  Allison’s next-generation electronic  controls platform which will allow it to avail over the air software updates and deliver advanced communications and functional safety.

The transmission will come with a new Control Module along with a new software operating system which will enable control and calibration of software while providing cyber security infrastructure. The two transmissions will be mated to a GM 6.6L engine capable of producing 380 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. The upgraded 1000/2000 Highway Series transmissions set to go in FCCC’s walk-in vans will be carrying a standard five-year warranty.
