Alpina launches all-new B7

Many of us in the automotive world are tirelessly waiting for an M version of the luxurious 7 series limo. But BMW themselves are not yet ready to unveil the dream limo. However, Alpina – BMW’s chosen tuner like Brabus is to Mercedes – keeps on answering those questions with their own take on the 7 series called the B7. And since the new 7-Series is already in the market, it did not take long for Alpina to release the all-new B7.

The new B7 is an all-out performance heavyweight. Alpina is able to churn out a whopping 600 BHP and 590 lb-ft torque from the 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 from the 750i. This power, coupled with BMW’s xDrive and the superb 8-speed automatic transmission, makes the B7 accelerate from 0-100 in 3.6 seconds – 0.8 seconds faster than the previous gen – and a top speed of 300+ kmph. This is supercar territory.

All this is achieved thanks to the four-wheel steering – in addition to the specially tuned suspension and active body roll. Moreover, the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires mated to huge 15.5”/14.5” (front/rear) brakes keep the power on the road. Add to that a special aerodynamic kit and 20” wheels and you have got yourself a mean looking machine.
