BMW 4 Series Drops The Top Off

Posted by on Oct 13, 2013

BMW has officially announced the all-new 4 Series Convertible. There are no surprises in design as 4 Series Coupe was basically a 3-series coupe and this is a 3-series convertible. But that doesn’t mean this car isn’t a looker. It looks even hotter with its top off.

It takes around 20 seconds to turn it into a coupe and vice versa. It also comes with neck warmers to keep the driver warm in low temperatures with the top down.

In the US, there will be 2 models offered i.e. 428i and 435i. The 428i will have the following:

- 2.0 L 4-cylinder

- 240 bhp and 255 Nm torque

- 0-100 km/h in just above 6 seconds

- Limited top speed of 250 km/h

While the 435i will have:

- 3.0 L inline-6

- 300 bhp and 406 Nm torque

- 0-100 km/h in around 5.5 seconds

- Limited top speed of 250 km/h

Both engines will be connected to an 8-speed auto gearbox. The 428i can have xDrive AWD as an option.

The trim levels for US are Sport, Luxury and M Sport and prices will start at $49,675 (AED 182,500) for 428i and $55,825 (AED 205,000) for 435i.

The BMW 4-Series Convertible will officially be unveiled at the LA Motor Show next month and will go on sale in the first quarter of 2014.
