Geely Emgrand GT 2016 in detail

Geely Auto, the Chinese automaker, held an exclusive event for the launch of the all-new Emgrand GT. This car is the flagship offering from the Chinese brand. It was launched by the exclusive Geely dealer – Union Motors – at their showroom in Deira, Dubai. Coming to the car itself, the Geely Emgrand GT is a front wheel drive car. The GT is powered by either a 2.4 liter or a 3.5 liter engine. The 3.5 liter engine produces a decent 285 BHP and 326 Nm. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. This is good enough to propel the car from 0-100 in 8.8 seconds. Geely says that the GT is aimed at the BMWs and Mercedes. Well, that argument makes sense considering the fact that the Emgrand GT has won the ‘China Car of the Year’ award.

As for the feature list, the 2016 Geely Emgrand GT does boast quite a lot. There is Hydraulic Power Steering for better handling, leather steering wheel, cruise control, ventilated discs in the front, choice between 17 inch or 18 inch alloys, brake assist, ABS and EBD, traction control, electronic parking brakes, hill-start assist control, panoramic sunroof, daytime LED, automatic headlamps, electric folding side mirrors, dual climate control a/c, rear a/c vents, airbags, keyless smart entry system, remote switch for opening/closing sunroof, parking sensors – front and rear, reverse camera, driver memory function for the seat/steering/mirror and eight speaker audio system. There is also an 8 inch infotainment system with GPS navigation, Bluetooth, SD card and AUX/USB ports for functionality.

There are optional upgrades being offered as well like WiFi hotspot connectivity and Mirrorlink which allows users to share their phone’s screen onto the vehicle’s center console. The Geely Emgrand GT is selling at a starting price of AED 59,995.
