McLaren launches striking footwear range in collaboration with Athletic Propulsion Labs

Luxury carmakers are not just carmakers these days, they are also diversifying and going into the apparel market. Case in point, McLaren and Athletic Propulsion Labs latest collaboration which brings a stunning sneaker collection.

Meet the APL | McLaren HySpeed - performance shoes with a touch of McLaren. These shoes feature APL’s patented Load ‘N Launch technology that increases vertical leaps, FutureFoam pods at each end which are connected by a full-length lightweight carbon fibre plate and, the very mind blowing part, a nitrogen-infused midsole which make the shoes more responsive. Basically it must be like pressing the nitrous button in a car.

McLaren has a hand in the design part of the shoes as they echo the British carmaker’s supercars. Apart from sporting a tread pattern, the shoes are available in very McLaren-ey colours like White/McLaren Orange, White/Black/Ombre, Rose/Dust/Crème, Energy/Metallic Silver, and McLaren Orange.

Sounds cool, right? Well, the price isn’t cool and will make your bank account feel a bit sweaty. The shoes are made for both men and women and cost $450. Ouch!
