MG Motor has entered Morocco as part of its commitment towards foraying into the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Region. The British brand will be launching itself in Morocco in the month of March this year with Jameel Motors named official distributor. Morocco becomes the brand's 10th regional market.

Jameel Motors is an already established name in the Moroccan market and MG looks to bring its reputation and brand value in collaboration with the privately owned business. Jameel Motors has been lauded with awards for automotive operations in the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Africa.

MG will be offering its leading all-electric as well as plug-in hybrid (PHEV) offerings MG ZS EV, the MG 4 Full Electric and the MG HS PHEV. The first MG showroom will open in Casablanca and, alongside the aforementioned, combustion engine models such as the MG ZS, MG HS SUVs and the MG 5 and MG 3 sedans will also be available.

Tom Lee, Managing Director at MG Motor Middle East, commented: “It brings me great pride and confidence to work with such a successful and established business partner as Abdul Latif Jameel.  Morocco holds so much potential for MG Motor and expanding further into the North African market will help us build on the extraordinary growth we have enjoyed across the region over recent years.

Fady Jameel, Deputy President and Vice Chairman, Abdul Latif Jameel said: “This distribution agreement reinforces our deep commitment to expanding our business and product offering to our customers in Morocco, which is a key market for us. Working with leaders in the electric vehicle market such as MG Motor, is illustrative of our dedication to working with solution-orientated innovators in the transition towards a more sustainable future.”
