Building its product line-up and offering customers more variety, MG Motor announced plans to launch three new models across the Middle East during the second half of 2019. Having entered the region in 2015, MG Motor’s current line-up consists of the MG 6, MG RX 5, MG ZS, and MG GS, a combination of sedan and SUV offerings to cater to the differing needs of car buyers across the region.

The MG 5, MG RX8, and MG HS are all completely new models and are set to elevate the brands into new segments across the market. The MG 5, which is the brand’s all-new compact sedan, sits in the highly competitive B-segment of the market and takes on its rivals with a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine under the hood. Its spec sheet reads out a variety of features, the most interesting of which are, a rear-view camera, 10.1-inch touch screen, push button start, and a 360-degree surround-view camera.

On the other hand, the MG RX 8 is the automaker’s first ever entrant into the large SUV segment and aims to appeal to those who are looking for something different. Taller, longer and wider than some of its Japanese competitors, the MG RX 8 offers a premium interior that benefits from the largest third row space in the segment, as well six different driving modes.

Tom Lee, Managing Director for SAIC Motor Middle East, parent company of MG Motor, commented: “A significant trend we are noticing across the globe - and even more acutely in the Middle East - is that buyers are increasingly demanding better quality, style and technological capability: all at greater value. While competitors are looking to push the boundaries to meet these expectations, I’m proud to say that customers are recognizing these attributes in our dynamic model line-up and this has resulted in our relentless growth in the region.”

Finally, the MG HS takes places in the brand’s line-up as its all-new mid-size SUV, superseding the MG GS. The MG HS is set to become the brand’s most stylish SUV, incorporating the latest MG design language and futuristic features, including; lane departure warning, blind spot detection, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 10-inch touchscreen display.
