MG Motor has released its sales in the Middle East in the first quarter and they are super impressive. The British born carmaker recorded a 35 per cent increase in Middle East sales in the first quarter which has in turn helped it increase its market share in the region to 4.7 per cent. 2022 has started with a bang for MG.

The star of this show has been the MG ZS with a whopping 3,835 sales of the compact SUV  reported by MG during the first three months of 2022. Going by its popularity and extraordinary sales figures, it comes as no surprise that it was the most popular model in the compact SUV segment in Oman. The MG 5 saloon came a respectable second in the sales rankings with 2,772 sales.

MG saw the biggest increase in market share in Oman with  Saudi Arabia being its biggest market in terms of total volume.

Tom Lee, Managing Director of MG Motor’s Middle East operations, commented: “Since arriving in the Middle East seven years ago, we have been totally focused on delivering the very best products and services to our customers across the region, and these latest results emphasize that our approach is working. This region is absolutely key to the brand, and we continue to plan carefully to ensure our production and supply meets the needs of our customers, so that there is always availability to meet the growing demand we are experiencing.”

Tom further stated that MG Middle East won’t be “resting on its laurels” and will be looking to build on these outstanding figures throughout the year with the introduction of new models and meeting the needs of their customers.
