Middle East Motor Tuning Show 2014

Posted by Hassan Siddiqi on Mar 16, 2014

The car crazy tribe came together to celebrate the Middle East Motor Tuning Show. This time the tribe included not just UAE crazies but also international crazies from US, China and Germany. Over 40 vendors came just from United States. Some were looking for distributors in UAE, some were promoting their unique brand of customization to the local market. Local patrons like Top Speed Performance Parts, ProFoil, Sea Star, Off Road Zone and G Force Performance from Al Ghandi Automobiles were present as well. There are two growing communities that I want to focus on as they basically overtook the entire exhibition this year:

Car Audio

It was great to see the growing car audio community in UAE. The customizations in car audio range from simple installations to sophisticated carbon fiber based work that could cost an enthusiast thousands of dirhams. The car above, for example cost 19,500 AED to modify. Thierry Gaye who regularly organizes European Mobile Music Manufacturers (EMMA) car audio contests in UAE said this was their largest gathering by far and they have another event lined up next month as well.

Custom Bikes

Surprisingly, there seemed to be more custom bike vendors at the exhibition than custom car vendors. The biker community included biker clubs like Chopper Kulture, custom bike manufacturers like Custom Bikes Dubai, Bike repair vendors in Dubai like Lycan Customs and Bike accessories traders like Dr. Custom. Oh yes, Harley Davidson was there too but I almost missed them!
