Official: Ineos to launch all-electric SUV in 2026

Ineos Automotive has caught the eye of many petrolheads and car enthusiasts with its back to basics Grenadier. The British carmaker has now announced that it will be launching an all-electric SUV positioned below the Grenadier in 2026.

Ineos has signed an agreement with automotive supplier Magna to build the electric 4x4. Set to be built in Magna’s plant in Graz, Austria, the SUV will be looking to offer “world-class off-road capability, without compromising on-road comfort or performance.”

The electric off-roader will become the third offering from Ineos, with a Grenadier pickup already in the pipeline. While no further information has been revealed by Ineos, reports suggest that the British firm is targeting a range of 250 miles (400 kilometers) on a single charge for the SUV. In terms of styling, the electric SUV will resemble the Grenadier with a rugged and boxy exterior.

Lynn Calder, CEO of Ineos Automotive, said: “This is an exciting moment for INEOS Automotive.”

“Having worked together on the engineering of the Grenadier, we’ve seen first-hand the value of applying Magna’s agility, knowledge, and experience to a complete vehicle development program. Deepening our collaboration is a natural next step as we use the Grenadier as a springboard for our continued growth as a global automotive brand with this third model line.”
