Oman Auto Excellence Awards 2016

Awards and their respective ceremonies are aplenty in the automotive space. But unlike many others, the Oman Auto Excellence Awards are the only automotive awards organized by the industry in Oman. Aimed at providing an unbiased and independent platform for new car buyers to gain information before purchasing their next vehicle, nominations are divided into five categories: Sedans, SUVs, Hatchbacks, Coupe / Convertibles, and Most Popular Car.

The timeline for the awards, sees nominations close on 1st September 2016, test drives conducted on 28th November 2016, and the final awards ceremony held on 10th December 2016. With a majority of the judges on the jury panel operating outside of Oman, the test drive process is one that is intriguingly exciting.
It all begins with jurors meeting at the Oman Automobile Association’s track and dealers delivering their nominated vehicles for each category. What follows, is not only a test-drive but a detailed run-down of every automobile including its rivals, market performance etc.

Voting on various criteria such as Occupant Environment, Performance, Value, Safety, and Emotional Appeal, jurors will be led to a closed area where they independently fill out their evaluation forms for the nominated vehicles. The last and final step, is for the assessment and evaluation by the judging panel which is carried out in isolation from the jurors and in presence of the auditors, BDO.
