In a move to migrate its services online, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that from July 22nd onward, annual renewal of vehicle registrations can be done online. As part of a wider plan to migrate eight major services online, the RTA introduces this service to increase convenience and reduce waiting times at Tasjeel, Al Shamil, Wasel and other affiliated testing centers around the emirate.

Services that can now be done online through RTA’s portal include the registration of individually-owned vehicles that require testing, the printing of a detailed list of registered vehicles, first owner registration certificates, vehicle ownership certificates, re-insurance certificates, clearance certificates, return from tour certificates, and reissuance of old/damaged certificates.

“The step is part of RTA’s strategy for gradual diversion of all services to smart and e-channels, which is in line with the Government’s directives to reduce the number of visitors to service centers, and the Smart City initiative,” said Abdullah Yousuf Al Ali, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency.

Upon the launch of the new service on 22nd July, motorists who visit vehicle testing centers for their annual vehicle registration will only be given test results and requested to continue the process online. Abdullah Yousuf Al Ali, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency, confirmed that the results will be updated immediately, and customers can do the online registration instantly.
