Subaru BRZ 2017 launched

Not the most popular brand in this region but still this news is important. The Subaru BRZ or the Toyota 86 (for the people unfamiliar) are basically the same cars but with a different badge. It is because the car is made by both Toyota and Subaru in order to offer a cheap sports coupe. Subaru created the engine and the designing was done by Toyota. Well, there is good news, the Subaru BRZ has received a very important update since it came to the scene in 2012.

There is a new front bumper that is lowered and widened for better aerodynamics. Moreover, the headlights now incorporate LEDs which is a first in any Subaru – in addition to the DRLs. Other than that, you will find a new spoiler, LED taillamps and new alloy design. The LED love continues in the fogs as well. However, the interior pretty much remains the same. The leather steering wheel design has changed in addition to BRZ badged seating. Also, there is A 4.2 inch display in the instrument cluster – following the Toyota footsteps – for providing information to the driver.

The performance figures haven’t been improved much. The flat-4 box engine now produces 205 BHP and 211 Nm of torque. That’s an upgrade of 5 BHP and 7 Nm. The engine is again mated to either a 6 speed manual or 6 speed automatic. The Sports mode is now called Track mode and the hill start assist now debuts in the car. The Subaru BRZ is expected to be in showrooms by September this year and the asking price won’t be far off from the current pricing.
