The Aston Martin DB12 is here… without a V12

Aston Martin has taken the wraps off its latest “super tourer” - the DB12. And before you ask, no, it does not get a V12. It’s quite ironic that after the DB9, ultra-exclusive DB10 and DB11, Aston finally named its car DB12 but it does away with the British marque’s iconic powertrain.

However, the powertrain in the DB12 is no slouch. The optimized twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 from Mercedes makes the DB12 more powerful than the DB11 V12 with 671 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque on offer. As a result of those supercar-like numbers, 0-60 mph takes just 3.5 seconds and flat-out, the DB12 will do 202 mph.

The DB12 has Aston Martin’s next-generation adaptive dampers and stiffer anti-roll bars to provide performance as well as "sublime yet agile cruising." We’re told that the DB12 is "the most complete and accomplished DB model."

The DB12 has Aston’s usual styling with some glorious refreshments. Up front, two LED lights flank the big grille under which there is a completely reshaped splitter. The DB12 sits on beautiful 21-inch wheels. The sleekness of the design is maintained by the frameless side mirrors and flush door handles.

Step inside and you will find a massive driver-centric center console and some of the finest Alcantara leather on the planet. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available along with a new navigation system with online connectivity and 3D mapping.

Deliveries of the Aston Martin DB12 are set to take place from the third quarter of 2023 with no details about the pricing revealed.
