Aston Martin: Financial Losses and New Hopes with AMG Partnership
Financial Losses
This is not good news. Aston Martin reported a loss of £24.9 million after tax in 2012. The company primarily attributes this significant loss to a downturn in the market and weak sales, as well as delays in launching new vehicles.
Hope with AMG
However, there is hope—AMG. Yes, the deal signed with AMG is expected to help them reduce development costs, as AMG will provide V8 engines and new platforms. Consequently, their partnership with Ford for the supply of parts necessary for the AM V8 and V12 engines will come to an end.
Future Challenges
In the case of Aston Martin, financial issues are not unfamiliar, so we hope this is just another bump in the road for them, and they will overcome it soon. We are excited to see the fruits of the AM-AMG collaboration.
