Bentley Celebrates the Festive Season with a Unique 'Nutcracker' Tribute
Innovative Holiday Spirit at Bentley
The festive feel is well and truly in full flow around the globe with New Year right upon us, as I write this piece on Christmas Eve. To get us into the festive spirit, Bentley has quite innovatively recreated "The Nutcracker" song in its carbon-neutral factory in Crewe, UK.
A Symphony of Sounds in the Factory
Car factories are quite a sight to behold and, while they can appear to be very busy and noisy, listen carefully and you can actually hear some kind of tune. This is what the British carmaker has done in the video.
The Musical Contributions
The song is made with sonorous contributions from:
- Wheel nut guns
- Paint sprayers
- Electric windows being tested
- Doors opening and closing
- Screws being screwed
- The roar of the kettle from the kitchen
- The tinkle of a teaspoon in a mug
Bentley's Commitment to Sustainability
For those of you who don’t know, Bentley’s factory in Crewe is fully carbon neutral, meeting the internationally recognized PAS 2060 standard and is the first one in the UK to achieve this certification from the Carbon Trust in 2019.
Celebrating Craftsmanship
Mr. S.C. Lause, Director of Elves, Northern Europe commented: “When you walk around the factory it’s not just what you see, it’s what you hear that is so distinctive. So, it occurred to me that creating the Bentley Orchestra would be a unique way to celebrate the extraordinary skills of Bentley craftspeople as well as showcasing their modern sustainable future.”
