BMW, Intel, and Mobileye: The Future of Autonomous Driving
Launch of the Autonomous Vehicle Fleet
Recently, the BMW Group, along with Intel and Mobileye, announced the launch of a fleet consisting of approximately 40 self-driving cars. These vehicles are expected to hit the roads in the second half of 2017, showcasing significant progress made by these three companies towards full autonomous driving.
Technology Used in the Vehicles
At the Consumer Electronics Show, the three companies revealed that the BMW 7 Series will implement this advanced technology, which will be tested globally in the United States.
Partnership Between Companies
The partnership between the three companies began six months ago, during which they worked on developing a scalable architecture that enables automotive developers and manufacturers to adopt it for monitoring design states and creating diverse automotive companies.

Klaus Fröhlich, a member of the BMW Group's board for development in America, stated: "Making self-driving cars a reality for our customers is the common ambition behind our collaboration with Intel and Mobileye. This partnership possesses all the necessary skills and talents to overcome upcoming technological challenges and market self-driving cars."
The Future of Autonomous Driving
The BMW iNEXT, set to launch in 2021, will serve as the cornerstone for BMW's autonomous driving strategy. Following the iNEXT will be a series of advanced self-driving models that BMW plans to offer in its future vehicles.
