Introduction
The rivalry between German brands - Audi, Mercedes, and BMW - has led to the release of several groundbreaking cars. Recently, while no entirely new models have been introduced, BMW has responded to Mercedes’ updates of the GLE and GLE Coupe by unveiling refreshed versions of the X5 and X6.
Exterior Updates
As expected with a mild refresh, the BMW X5 and X6 feature subtle design changes:
- Slightly slimmed front headlights
- Illuminated kidney grille
- xLine as the new base variant for the X5
- M Sport package as standard on the X6
- M Sport package Pro available for top variants of both models
Interior Enhancements
Significant upgrades are found in the interior of the new BMW models:
- Curved Display: A 12.3-inch instrument panel combined with a 14.9-inch infotainment display.
- Touch Panel Climate Control: Enhanced accessibility for climate settings.

Performance Highlights
The X6 M60i and X5 M60i are powered by a 4.4-litre turbocharged V8 engine producing 530bhp and 750 Nm of torque. The standout is the mild-hybrid X5 xDrive50e, which combines a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor, yielding a total output of 489bhp and 700Nm of torque. This powertrain is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and features a 25.7kWh battery pack that allows for an electric-only range of 94 to 110 km according to the WLTP cycle.
