Cadillac SRX Review
Among five-seat SUVs, the Cadillac SRX stands out among competitors that aren't particularly dominant, such as the Lexus RX, Audi Q5, and BMW X3. We tested the SRX on the streets of Dubai.
Performance
It's good, but not the best.
From the outside, the SRX is an attractive and eye-catching vehicle, with the Cadillac emblem prominently displayed at the front.
This crossover model features a six-speed automatic transmission, offering strong handling, quick suspension response, and a sporty driving experience that every driver seeks. All models are equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that delivers 308 horsepower and 358 Nm of torque.
While the handling isn't the best, it's adequate for daily use. The steering wheel feels stiffer than some competitors, but the speed control is a strong point. Although the performance isn't outstanding, it is fuel-efficient. In our braking test, the SRX excelled in its class, stopping from 60 mph in just 120 feet. This is a key factor for families, and the SRX delivers.
Interior
The SRX offers more pricing options compared to the Mercedes ML or BMW X3.
There are many color choices for buyers, both exterior and interior. Every corner of the vehicle showcases impressive, smart, and innovative details. The Cadillac "CUE" infotainment system is a highlight, easy to use and crystal clear. Additionally, voice recognition technology allows control over climate, audio, phone, navigation, and countless other functions. The CUE system enhances the interior style, adding luxury and quality to this vehicle.
There is ample space inside, both for front and rear passengers, and the trunk is very spacious. One of the key points families look for is safety, and the SRX excels in this area. It features an anti-lock braking system that protects the vehicle and assists during slippery road conditions, along with front and rear airbags.
This model also includes traction and stability features, with a system called "OnStar" that automatically alerts the driver in case of an accident or theft. It also comes equipped with a blind-spot monitoring system and congestion detection.
The success of this model exceeded our expectations, with a touchscreen control panel and smartphone integration, making this vehicle top-notch in terms of features and interior amenities.
Summary
Overall, the Cadillac SRX is an impressive vehicle. The ride is comfortable, performance is satisfactory, and the technology and luxury features make it one of the best midsize SUVs compared to its competitors.
