Driving Experience of the All-New 2016 Toyota Fortuner
The 2016 Toyota Fortuner has recently been launched by Al-Futtaim Motors in the UAE. Learn more about the launch event here. This all-new Fortuner took a decade to develop the second generation. Known for its off-road driving capabilities, it was tested on rugged terrains by journalists in the valleys of Dubai during the launch event.

Exterior Design
The Fortuner is completely redesigned both inside and out. The exterior has been entirely revamped, making it longer, wider, and lower. The large front grille is framed in broad chrome, featuring LED headlights and daytime running lights. The upper section is also adorned with chrome that wraps around the sides and extends to the rear bumper, which has been widened.

Interior Cabin
The cabin is simple yet durable, featuring colorful stitching, metallic accents, and the Fortuner name on the dashboard and doors. It includes leather seats and a rear entertainment system. Overall, the driving experience is quiet and comfortable.

Performance
The new Fortuner is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission, which I believe is somewhat outdated. The transmission offers a choice between two engine options:
- 2.7L 4-cylinder with 164 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque.
- 4.0L V6 with 235 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque.

Pricing and Availability
The new Fortuner is available in 8 colors at all Al-Futtaim Motors showrooms, with prices starting from AED 105,900 for the 2.7L EXR model, AED 127,900 for the 4.0L GXR, and AED 139,900 for the 4.0L VXR.
