The eighth generation of the Golf sports car is set to arrive soon. This new model enhances the vehicle’s dynamics, sporty character, elegance, and responsiveness more than ever before. The new Golf GTI sets new standards for the compact sports car segment, powered by a 2-liter TSI engine with a turbocharger, producing 180 kW (245 horsepower). The first batch of the Golf GTI will be available in the region starting from April 2021.
History of the Golf GTI
The Golf GTI has been a pioneer among sports cars for nearly 45 years. This compact vehicle now features enhanced driving dynamics and a greater array of connectivity technologies and digital equipment.

Exterior and Interior Design
The new Golf GTI is lower, longer, and offers improved dynamics. The car's exterior design showcases a range of traditional and new GTI design elements, including:

- An engine with a turbocharger producing 180 kW (245 horsepower).
- A network-connected dynamic characteristics management system.
Digital Equipment in the Cabin
The graphical display of the standard digital cockpit in the new GTI has been enhanced with an active information display that can be activated using the new View button on the steering wheel. Standard equipment also includes:
- App-Connect system.
- Wireless phone charging.
