2022 Ford GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition: A Tribute to Racing Heritage

2022 will be the final production year for the Ford. To commemorate this momentous occasion, Ford has unveiled the GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition, which pays homage to two lightweight GT40 prototypes created by Alan Mann Racing.
The Legacy of Alan Mann Racing
Back in 1966, Alan Mann Racing created two lightweight prototypes of the iconic 1966 GT40 Mk I. Although these prototypes did not achieve victory in any races, they laid the groundwork for the lightweight GT Mk II, which triumphed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966.
Design Features of the GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition
The GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition showcases a striking livery that features:
- Red paint with white and gold stripes.
- Beautiful white accents on the hood, front fender, and rear wing.
- Golden Ford badging.
- The number 16 on the hood, doors, and rear wing, paying tribute to the AM GT-1’s racing number.
Luxurious Interior
Inside, the GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition is adorned with generous use of carbon fiber, including:
- Carbon fiber seats and door sills.
- Gold and red accent stitching on the seats.
- GT logo on the head restraints.
- Ebony leather and Alcantara for the instrument panel, pillars, and headliner.

Production Numbers and Conclusion
Ford has not disclosed the number of units that will be produced for the GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition. Henry Mann, director of Alan Mann Racing Ltd., stated, “It’s a great honour for Alan Mann Racing and the Mann family to celebrate the epic motorsports heritage of Ford GT with this fantastic limited-edition car.”
He further added, “To see the red and gold colours of our team’s livery come back to life, and to have debuted this new GT alongside one of our original GT40s in Chicago, was a magical occasion.”
