Introduction to the Ford GT
The Ford GT is the only American supercar that has triumphed at the Le Mans race. To honor this victory that solidified its place in high-performance vehicles, Ford has unveiled the "GT Heritage" model, inspired by the original car that won the Daytona 24 Hours in 1966.
Design of the Ford GT Heritage
The "GT Heritage" features the "GT Studio Collection" graphics package, offering customers exclusive design touches that enhance its uniqueness.
Director's Statement
On this occasion, Mike Severson, the Ford GT program director, stated:
“In designing the 'GT Heritage' version, Ford's performance vehicle team delved into the history of the 'Ford GT' in one of the most prestigious races to create a limited edition model celebrating the 55th anniversary of the car’s victory at the Daytona 24 Hours, which eventually led to our success at Le Mans. For customers eager to showcase the carbon fiber body and high-efficiency cooling vents that contributed to its historic Le Mans win, the 'GT Studio Collection' package provides supercar enthusiasts with a chance to customize their vehicles in a completely new way.”
Car Launch Events
The announcement of the new Ford GT models was a highlight at the conclusion of the "2020 Petersen Automotive Week," which began streaming on Wednesday on the museum's popular YouTube channel. The virtual event included 25 hours of original content from some of the leading manufacturers and automotive enthusiasts, along with showcases of car enthusiasts' lifestyles and auction activities.
