Official Statement

Interior ministry assistant undersecretary for traffic affairs, Major General Abdulfattah Al Ali, provided insights to Al Anbaa newspaper, stating:

“We have deported 213 expatriates during the past few days for violating traffic rules and committing grave offences.”

Among the violations leading to deportation, the following were highlighted:

  • Driving without a driver's license
  • Using private cars to carry passengers
  • Passing red traffic lights
  • Exceeding speed limits

Driving License Regulations for Foreigners

A decision issued around 10 years ago established the following criteria for foreigners wishing to obtain a driving license in Kuwait:

  1. Must hold a university degree
  2. Must earn at least 400 Kuwaiti dinars per month
  3. Must have resided in Kuwait for at least 2 years
