Jaguar E-Type ZP Collection: A Tribute to Racing Heritage
Introduction
The Jaguar E-Type is one of the most beautiful road cars ever made. It’s no surprise that petrolheads continue to yearn for more special E-Type restomods. The latest in this line is the E-Type ZP Collection, commemorating the E-Type’s first race wins in 1961, driven by Graham Hill and Roy Salvadori.
E-Type ZP Collection Features
The E-Type ZP Collection consists of pairs of cars, each honoring the original race cars driven by the legendary racers.
Design and Inspiration
- The Oulton Blue drophead coupe is inspired by the original ‘ECD 400’ driven by Graham Hill, featuring a contrasting red leather interior.
- The Crystal Grey fixed-head coupe pays homage to Roy Salvadori’s ‘BUY 1’, equipped with a contrasting dark blue interior.
Exclusive Features
Additional features contributing to the car's exclusivity include:
- An aluminum console with engravings by Johnny "King Nerd" Dowell.
- Bridge of Weir leather upholstery.
Performance
Both cars are powered by a 3.8-litre in-line six-cylinder Jaguar XK engine, mated to a specially developed close-ratio five-speed manual transmission from Jaguar Classic.
Limited Production
Only seven pairs, totaling 14 cars, will be produced. Each owner will receive a matching Everoak helmet inspired by the original drivers’ helmets, handmade by Bill Vero, who has been crafting them since the 1950s. These helmets will be presented in bags specially created by the in-house trimmers at Jaguar Classic.
Future Plans
Jaguar Classic has also announced that a small batch of matching F-Types will be produced later this year as a celebration of Jaguar's rich history before the company's transition to electric vehicles in 2025. Fourteen of these F-Types will be reserved for customers of the E-Type ZP Collection.
