Haitham Al-Hadidi Wins the 2016 Red Bull Car Park Drift Championship

In a thrilling competition featuring the best drift drivers from Kuwait, Mauritius, Egypt, Morocco, Qatar, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the UAE, and Oman, Haitham Al-Hadidi, an 18-year-old driver, surprised everyone by winning the Red Bull Car Park Drift finals in his debut appearance, earning him the title of Drift King for 2016.
Judging Panel
The judging panel comprised renowned global drift champions, including the 2011 Formula Drift Champion from Japan, Daijiro Yoshihara, Ukrainian Red Bull athlete Alexander Grinchuk, and professional drift driver since 2004, Kinshiro Yoshii. The course for the championship was designed by the professional drift driver known as the "Drift King," Abdo Faghali.
Competition Results
Al-Hadidi outperformed 14 other drifters in the finals, scoring a total of 390 points with his Nissan Silvia. Following him was Omani competitor Ali Al-Balushi, who also scored 390 points in his Nissan Silvia, but after a review, Al-Hadidi was declared the winner. Omani driver Tariq Al-Shihani secured third place with 383 points in his Nissan SX240, making it a dominant performance for Oman.
Winner's Joy
Al-Hadidi expressed his excitement, stating: "I feel very happy; I didn’t expect to win today. It’s also a wonderful feeling that all the podium finishers this year are Omanis, despite the high level of competition."
