A plethora of extremely high-tech and majestic Chinese cars and brands have been introduced in the UAE in the recent times. These were fast etched by the denizens as they had one thing in common- unbeatable value. For those on a lookout for a mid-size crossover that looks tantalizing, offers a palatable interior cabin and an umpteen variety of features, here’s the Hongqi HS3.
Marking its regional debut with its initial launch in Abu Dhabi through its distributor, Al Tawkilat Group, it has been incepted in the entire Middle East region too.
Hongqi HS3 Price In UAE
The car features two trims – Luxury and Flagship. The former is priced at AED 99,999 while the latter will set you back by AED 122,999.
EXTERIOR

Regardless of the variant chosen, the HS3 is characterized by a striking and bold mien that is typically Hongqi. Up front, is a gargantuan grille that can make some prominent car grilles appear puny. A detailed look at the grille will reveal enticing appliques that look like fine work of art. Taking centrestage, is the long Hongqi emblem that scythes through the grille. LED detailing on the split headlamps is another feature to write home about.
The side profile is underscored by a dual-tone theme where gloss black dominates the upper-half and contrasts well with the five colour options available. Hongqi hasn’t left the rear unattended. For starters, the boomerang LED tail lamps that join with an LED light bar in the middle look snazzy. To complete its aura, it’s been provided with a shark fin antenna.
INTERIOR

The interior cavity of the Hongqi HS3 feels well-appointed. Of amazement, is the balance between minimalism and contemporary layout which can be felt in the HS3. Instantly noticeable, is the futuristic lighting effect around the door armrests and ambient lights that highlight the foot well areas, passenger section of the dashboard and armrest borders.
The central region of the dash is flaunted by a 12.6” portrait infotainment system which allows for maximum engagement by providing access to connected car apps, outside view, navigation and other controls to alter settings inside the car. This is in addition to the 12.3” landscape oriented instrument cluster.
FEATURES
The HS3’s USP is its cavernous feature list which includes electric seats, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, heated and ventilated front seats, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 6-airbags and tyre pressure monitoring system to name a few.
POWERTRAIN
The Hongqi HS3 features two powertrain options. The base ‘Luxury’ trim seeks its power from a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol mill that produces a respectable 168-hp and 258 Nm of torque. This powertrain option comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission which sends power to the front wheels.
The top-spec ‘Flagship’ variant embeds a bigger and more powerful 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that ekes out 252 hp and 380 Nm of torque. These figures are transmitted to all wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. To enhance driving pleasure, there are 5 modes - Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport + and Custom on offer with the larger displacement iteration.
To make a pleasing case for itself, the HS3 comes with a 7-year warranty. The car is being distributed by OneRoad in Dubai with deliveries having commenced. Like many of its Chinese counterparts, the Hongqi HS3 makes a valuable case for young and techy buyers. As a rounded proposition, the HS3 comes across as a good deal.
