Launch of Hyundai Commercial Vehicles

Hyundai has announced its plan to launch commercial vehicles and buses powered by hydrogen fuel cells. These innovative Hyundai commercial vehicles and buses, designed for urban and long-distance travel, are expected to contribute to environmental protection and air quality improvement on the roads.

Charging Efficiency of Vehicles

These hydrogen fuel cell buses and vehicles can be charged in just 15 minutes, achieving a driving range of up to 460 kilometers. This range is nearly six and a half times more efficient than other battery-powered electric public transport vehicles currently available in the market.

Hyundai's Commitment to Sustainability

Tony Kim, the Regional President of Hyundai Commercial Vehicles for Africa and the Middle East, stated that Hyundai has long recognized the importance of sustainability and has sought to develop low-emission vehicles. He added, "Since we launched our compressed natural gas bus in 2000, our sustainability efforts have yielded tangible results, and we have consistently led the way in meeting the global demand for environmentally friendly transportation."

Advantages of Hyundai Commercial Vehicles

Hyundai's commercial vehicles and buses feature cutting-edge hydrogen fuel cell technology, along with a button-operated transmission and digital control systems tailored for electric driving.

Design and Innovation

These electric vehicles and buses boast a futuristic design and were tested during the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.

Competition in the Commercial Vehicle Market

Hyundai Motor is keen on designing these fuel cell-powered vehicles and buses due to fierce competition among manufacturers. The commercial vehicles division of Hyundai is developing a variety of eco-friendly commercial vehicles, including hydrogen fuel cell buses and electric battery-operated ones, suitable for various usage environments and transportation needs.

Market Trends

Kim explained that global demand for commercial vehicles has declined over the past three years and is expected to continue this trend throughout 2018, attributing it to increased competition among manufacturers. He noted, "Hyundai Commercial Vehicles in Africa and the Middle East exported about 6,000 units during the first half of this year, which is nearly double what was exported during the same period last year."
