The metro has announced plans to increase the number of dedicated seats for women, according to their recent statement.
New Details
Starting next month, half of the silver-class cars, located after the women’s cars, will be reserved for women. Stickers and signs indicating that this section is designated for women and children have been posted on most trains.
Reservation Hours
These reservations will only be active during peak hours, which are:
- Sunday to Thursday from 7 AM to 9 AM
- From 5 PM to 8 PM
Increase in Female and Child Passengers
Ramadan Abdullah, the operations manager at the Roads and Transport Authority, stated that there has been a noticeable increase in the number of women and children using the metro. In response to this increase, they have decided to extend the current capacity of the metro compartments to make them exclusive for female passengers.

He also added that they are committed to making metro rides smoother and more comfortable for women and children, especially since they require more care due to their specific needs.
