Infiniti Q50: Transitioning to Traditional Steering in 2016

Introduction

The Infiniti Q50 faced harsh criticism for its brand new digital steering system, which basically simulated steering feedback as compared to the old-fashioned ‘feedback-oriented’ steering.

Feedback from Purists

The purists wanted the old flavor back. Well, Infiniti listened to the detractors and is set to scrap this new steering system in favor of the old rack from the G37 as that engages the driver more with the car.

Prototype Development

They have made a prototype with the old steering system and results are favorable, so the new system will be available in the 2016 model.

Impact on Sales

Will that affect sales of the current Infiniti Q50? Only time will tell.
