Review of the New Land Rover Range Rover Velar
Introduction
Ahead of its debut at the upcoming Geneva International Motor Show, Land Rover has unveiled a series of images showcasing the fourth member of the Range Rover lineup. Positioned between the Range Rover Evoque and the popular Range Rover Sport, this model draws inspiration from a prototype from the 1960s.
Design and Specifications
The company released a single image that highlights the rear of the vehicle, showcasing its panoramic glass roof, vertical taillights, and a large touchscreen infotainment system visible through the glass roof.
Pricing and Competition
While the price has yet to be revealed, it is expected to be close to that of the Range Rover Evoque, which starts at AED 190,000, and the Range Rover Sport, which begins at AED 370,000. Upon its market release, it is expected to compete with vehicles such as the BMW X6 and Porsche Macan.
Executive Statement
Jerry McGovern, the design director at Land Rover, stated: "We consider the Velar to be the flagship of the Range Rover. It brings a new dimension of sophistication, modernity, and elegance to the brand. The Range Rover Velar has changed everything."
Performance
Sharing its aluminum architecture with the Jaguar F-Pace, the Velar is expected to offer a range of engines, including economical 4-cylinder options, familiar 6-cylinder engines, high-performance 8-cylinder engines, and plug-in hybrid variants as well.
