In Casablanca, Morocco, executives and officials gathered at a lunch ceremony for the unveiling of the new Dacia Sandero model. Moroccan officials hope that this initiative marks a significant step for the region to emerge as a notable auto producer.
Somaca and Renault Partnership
Somaca operates this factory, which is majority-owned by the Moroccan arm of the French Renault. In 2012, Somaca produced approximately 60,000 cars under the names of Renault and Dacia.
New Dacia Sandero Model
The Dacia Sandero, known for being a small, low-cost sedan, is currently undergoing the process of creating a new version.
Manufacturing Insights
Fabrice Delecroix, Somaca's managing director, stated: “All the process that you see comes from the Romanian plant. We have just copied it, and it works perfectly.”
