Introduction

From royals to business tycoons, many prominent collectors have been captivated by Fabergé eggs throughout the 20th and 21st centuries. With nearly 50 Imperial eggs completed before 1917, these highly valuable creations are some of the most desirable collectibles ever made.

The Collaboration Between Rolls-Royce and Fabergé

Today, a new Fabergé egg has been produced in a modern style as a result of a collaboration between two of the most renowned luxury houses in the world, specifically for a distinguished Rolls-Royce client. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and Fabergé have announced the Spirit of Ecstasy in the form of a Fabergé egg.

Reimagining the Spirit of Ecstasy

For the first time in history, the Spirit of Ecstasy, the iconic figure that has adorned Rolls-Royce cars since 1911, has been reimagined and placed at the heart of a Fabergé egg. Rolls-Royce designers Stefan Monroe and Alex Innes created the design, which was then refined by Fabergé's lead designer, Liza Talgren, before master craftsman Paul Jones executed it.

Commissioning a Fabergé Egg

Commissioning a Rolls-Royce is a deeply meaningful and creative moment for the car owner, and this is precisely what commissioning a Fabergé egg entails. This Fabergé egg, the second commissioned within the "Imperial category" since 1917, celebrates the rich heritage that has distinguished both Rolls-Royce and Fabergé for over a century.

Design Innovation

The new egg combines the essential elements of both brands, featuring the Spirit of Ecstasy in an artistic decorative work that represents the pinnacle of creativity. The resulting masterpiece from this unique collaboration reflects the exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship for which both companies are renowned.

Complex Mechanism

Fabergé's technical mastery is evident in the "Spirit of Ecstasy Fabergé egg," which incorporates a highly complex mechanism designed using advanced computer-aided design and motion programs.

Statements from Leaders

Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, remarked: "The Spirit of Ecstasy Fabergé egg was born from a genuine desire to expand the realms of personalization within the Bespoke design program."

Additional Details

Seven Fabergé artisans embraced this challenge to execute the design using the finest materials with absolute craftsmanship. The egg features the characteristics of "surprise and delight," which are hallmarks of the "Imperial egg."

Public Debut of the Egg

The Spirit of Ecstasy Fabergé egg was publicly unveiled for the first time at the Rolls-Royce headquarters in Goodwood, West Sussex, England, on October 23, 2018, in front of a select group of guests and brand enthusiasts.
