Nissan held a press conference to discuss their achievements in the fiscal year 2015. Samir Sharafaan, the Managing Director of Nissan Middle East, noted that they have not only seen growth in sales over the past five years but also in market share, customer satisfaction, and corporate strength. He emphasized that they have prepared a new strategy focusing on their most important market, which is Saudi Arabia, crucial to their success.
Factors Behind Nissan's Success
There are three main pillars supporting the brand's success in the region:
- Core Model Management: This includes models such as the Patrol, X-Trail, Pathfinder, Altima, Maxima, Sunny, Sentra, and Nissan pickup. Sharafaan pointed out that they have achieved 70% of their sales through these core vehicles, with Patrol sales increasing by 235% and X-Trail by 440% over the past five years, demonstrating the effectiveness of their strategy.
- Enhanced Customer Service: Nissan is recognized as one of the best in customer service in the Gulf region.
- Performance: In 2015, Nissan ranked 49th on the Interbrand list of the top 100 car brands. Examples of performance improvements include the GT Academy, UEFA, and ICC. Additionally, the Nismo brand has broken records five times in the Guinness World Records. Sharafaan noted that Nissan is the most awarded brand in the region, having received 32 awards over five years, along with a 49% increase in sales.
Nissan's Forecast for 2016
Nissan anticipates further success in 2016, projecting a 12% increase in volume and a 15% growth in market share.
