The Oman Excellence Awards are the only awards organized in Oman, aimed at providing a neutral and independent platform for buyers of new cars to obtain useful information before purchasing their next vehicle. The nominations are divided into five categories:

- Coupes / Convertibles

The timeline for the awards is as follows:

- Awards Ceremony on December 10, 2016
It is worth noting that the majority of the judges on the panel work outside Oman.

The process begins with judges gathering at the Oman Automobile Association's track, where dealers present their vehicles according to each category. This is followed by car experiences, which detail the vehicles and their competitors along with their market performance and various other factors.
Evaluation Criteria
Following this, voting is conducted based on various criteria such as:
- Performance
- Value
- Safety
- Appeal
The judges convene in a closed area to independently fill out their evaluation forms for the nominated vehicles. In the final step, scoring and evaluation are conducted by the judging panel, who are kept separate from the judges and overseen by auditors.
