Introduction
OMODA & JAECOO, a global entity focusing on the Chinese automotive sector, is set to launch its first electric vehicle, the Omoda 5 EV, in the Saudi market by the end of 2023. This decision follows the successful introduction of their first conventional fuel vehicle and achievements in various regions, including Mexico, Australia, South Africa, and several European countries.
Design of the Omoda 5 EV
The designer of the Omoda 5 EV, Richard Koo, stated:
“The vehicle features a new design language called 'Light of Movement', inspired by light and shadow in dynamic lightning in nature. We aimed to capture the dynamic beauty of lightning as it pierces through the night sky, using it as inspiration for the car’s form, which showcases dynamic changes in light and shadow, creating a modern atmosphere that transcends realistic perceptions and imaginary landscapes.”
OMODA and JAECOO's Plans in Saudi Arabia
In addition, OMODA and JAECOO have announced plans to establish an international branch in the capital, Riyadh. This move is expected to significantly enhance the quality of services offered by the company, allowing customers easy access to direct communication with the company’s international office, which will also oversee specialized service centers and after-sales services.
Sales Structure and Oversight
Notably, vehicle sales will be directly controlled and supervised by the international office branch in Saudi Arabia, setting OMODA and JAECOO apart from other automotive manufacturers that rely on primary distributors for their operations within the Saudi market.
Local Dealers
The company added, “For sales, there will be specific dealers in each region monitored by the international office branch in Saudi Arabia. All showrooms and other facilities will be developed in collaboration with them. OMODA & JAECOO welcomes local dealers for detailed negotiations and sincerely seeks to collaborate with global partners to provide high-quality solutions for customers.”
Features of the Omoda 5 EV
It is important to note that the Omoda 5 EV incorporates advanced technological features, including the latest electric power technologies. It boasts a front motor that delivers 204 horsepower and is equipped with a 64 kWh battery, which can be charged up to 80% of its capacity in approximately 35 minutes, providing a range of up to 450 km. The Omoda 5 EV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.8 seconds.
