Introduction
Peugeot has unveiled a high-performance prototype named the 308 R at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show last month. This impressive vehicle features the same four-cylinder engine that delivers 270 horsepower as found in the RCZ R coupe.
Design and Performance
A test model of the 308 has been spotted, likely intended to be the 308 GTI rather than the 308 R.
Statements from the General Director
"We will create specific high-performance versions of our cars," said Maxime Picat, General Director of Peugeot. "There is room for the 308 R to use the same engine as the concept car presented in Frankfurt."
Engine Specifications
Picat referred to the 1.6 turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 270 horsepower and 464 Nm of torque.
Competition
The Peugeot 308 R could compete with rivals such as the Honda Civic R, Ford Focus RS, and Volkswagen Golf R.
