Design of the 2019 Porsche 911
Last year at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Porsche revealed the 2017 911. While the design is similar, the 2019 model features a wider front and rear. The wheel arches confirm a broader stance. The wheel size remains unchanged at 305/30, indicating that the new extension is not related to the wheels.
Details About the Upcoming Generation
Although the 2019 Porsche 911 won't be revealed until next year, we have confirmed some details. For instance, the car will be built on a new sports platform developed by Porsche itself. This new platform will provide improved flexibility for engine placement and suspension. And guess what this new platform could facilitate? Hybrid technology for the Porsche 911!
New Technologies
The next generation of the Boxster and Cayman will also use this new platform, and possibly the Audi R8 as well as the Lamborghini Aventador and Huracán. These cars have a mid-engine layout, but the Porsche 911 will retain its rear-engine configuration, perhaps moving closer to a mid-engine setup this time. We wouldn’t be surprised by any decisions!
Engine of the 2019 Porsche 911
The engine will remain the same 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged 6-cylinder as in the 2017 model. The current engine delivers 370 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque in the Carrera, while the Carrera S produces 420 horsepower and 368 lb-ft. We expect the Carrera and Carrera S models to be part of the 2019 lineup as well.
