Renault Clio RS16: The New Sports Car from Renault
Introduction
Many automakers produce special editions of their most popular models, and this time, Renault has joined the ranks. The French manufacturer waited for the conclusion of the Monaco Grand Prix to unveil its latest creation – the Clio RS16. This car is crafted to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Renault Sport.
Car Details
The RS16 is essentially a Renault Clio Sport equipped with the engine from the Megane 275 Trophy R. In other words, the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine producing 197 horsepower has been replaced with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that generates 271 horsepower. Additionally, the car features a 6-speed manual transmission.

Car Design
However, this car lacks rear seats and air conditioning to reduce weight. This is because the engine is heavier than that in the standard Clio RS, resulting in a nearly similar overall weight. The car is 60 mm wider, enhancing its racing-like driveability. The rear brake system is taken from the Clio Cup Racer, adding 40 kg of downforce at speeds of 200 km/h or faster. It is important to note that this car has not yet been produced, so these figures are not confirmed. Approximately 300 units are expected to be made, with a price around 200,000 AED.
