Aston Martin DB5 Junior: The Electric Marvel with 007 Gadgets
Introduction
Back in 2021, The Little Car Company unveiled something very special - the Aston Martin DB5 Junior from No Time To Die. The DB5 Junior is a two-thirds scale version of the iconic DB5, quickly winning the hearts of people of all ages.
Unique Features of the DB5 Junior
The main attraction of this little car is its impressive array of 007 gadgets. Some of our favorite gadgets include:
- Fake guns behind the flip-down headlights
- Oil dispenser
- Smoke screen
- Changeable number plate
Secret Panel and Easter Eggs
To access the machine guns from the headlights, you must unlock a secret panel. Additionally, there are several "easter eggs" hidden throughout the vehicle. The little DB5 is equipped with:
- Brembo disc brakes
- Bilstein dampers
- Coilover springs
- Regenerative braking
Inside, it features a typically 1960s wooden steering wheel, and importantly, this gem of a machine is fully electric.
Performance and Driving Modes
Recently, Aston Martin and The Little Car Company took the DB5 Junior to the track at Bicester Heritage. Since its launch, the DB5 Junior has three driving modes:
- Novice mode with just 1.3 bhp for less experienced drivers
- Expert mode delivering 6.7 bhp
- Competition mode, which is a “Balance of Performance” setting
Rally-Style Features
The DB5 Junior also boasts a rally-style hydraulic handbrake, appealing to the child in all of us. Its impressive features have garnered praise from Aston Martin’s High Performance Development Driver, Darren Turner.
Expert Reviews
“The DB5 Junior is certainly no toy. The quality and attention to detail on the car is amazing! Driving the car was epic; a real surprise actually. I wasn't expecting so much performance from the vehicle, and the handling was very authentic. Despite its reduced size, it still has all the charm and characteristics of an original DB5,” said Darren.
Production and Availability
Only 1,059 DB5 Juniors will be made, a number that matches the total DB5 units produced between 1963 and 1965, making this a collector's item for car enthusiasts.
