Traffic Violations Issued

The Head of Dubai Traffic Police reported that over 5,200 erroneous traffic violations were issued against drivers in the first half of 2013, all of which were later canceled.

Attempts to Evade Fines

Major General Mohammed Saif Al Zafeen also noted that investigators discovered approximately 4,200 attempts by drivers to evade fines by obscuring part of their license plate numbers.

Tickets and Violations

He mentioned that some tickets were issued against vehicles parked on the side of the road. Additionally, he stated that a police officer issued an unjust parking violation without consulting the driver. However, after the driver complained, it was found that the vehicle was parked there due to the sudden illness of his wife.

Abuse of Authority

He added that they found some police officers misusing their authority and emphasized their ongoing efforts to raise awareness and educate the public.
