Aston Martin began a new chapter in its illustrious history with the launch of the all-new Aston Martin DB11. The company launched the vehicle at the 86th International Geneva Motor Show. This is part of the company’s ‘Second Century’ plan which is basically trying to revamp the brand to suit the needs of today. It has been a long time coming but Aston has finally realized the fact that they need an overhaul and this new example is a pretty looking thing.
The new Aston Martin DB11 is not powered by the highly dated 6.0 V12. Instead Aston has developed a whole new engine keeping today’s requirements in hand. The new engine is a 5.2 liter twin-turbocharged V12 producing 600 BHP and 700 Nm of torque. This V12 is completely built in house by Aston and not taken from AMG like the V8 engine. Thus, the DB11 becomes the most powerful Aston ever made. All this power translates to very competitive figures. The Db11 can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. Moreover, there is start/stop functionality for better fuel efficiency as well.

DB11 is the absolute embodiment of what an Aston Martin should be and we have worked tirelessly to ensure that DB11 combines both exceptional design with the latest technology throughout. A brand new bonded aluminium platform, clever aerodynamics, a new characterful twin-turbo V12 and class-leading infotainment systems are just a few aspects which make this the sports car that will proudly spearhead Aston Martin’s second century plan.” The world awaits the official delivery of this new icon from the British brand. However, one has to wait till the fourth quarter of this year as the deliveries are scheduled for that time period.
