All-New Audi Q2: Compact Crossover Unveiled at Geneva Motor Show
Audi has introduced an entirely new vehicle at the Geneva Motor Show. It is called the Audi Q2 and sits below their smallest SUV offering – the Audi Q3. With this model, Audi plans to enter the largest market in the world – compact crossovers. The Q2 is based on the Volkswagen MQB platform.

Design and Features
“We have specifically developed the Audi Q2 for young customers,” explained Prof. Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG. “It looks distinguish it as a model with attitude. The compact SUV blends the technical expertise of our brand with high everyday utility and emotional character.”

Dimensions and Storage
Coming to the car itself, the Audi Q2 certainly looks distinct from the rest of the Q family. This uniqueness is welcomed as all Audi Q models typically share similar looks. The dimensions of the Q2 are as follows:
- Height: 1.5 meters
- Length: 4.17 meters
- Width: 1.8 meters
This translates to over 1000 liters of storage, which is impressive for a compact SUV.

Interior Features
The good news continues inside as well. The dashboard is borrowed from new Audis, providing a minimalistic design and a brilliant digital instrument cluster. Premium features available include:
- Adaptive cruise control
- Traffic sign recognition
- Blind spot alert
- Lane departure warning

Engine Options
The Audi Q2 offers a range of engine options. The entry-level model features a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder engine capable of producing 114 BHP due to turbocharging. However, it is unlikely that this engine will debut in the GCC market. Instead, the GCC will feature the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 187 BHP. This engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, with options for either FWD or AWD Quattro.

Future Expectations
Since the Audi Q2 is already based on the VW platform, we can anticipate a VW cousin based on the Q2 in the future.
