Due to the failure of several cruise control systems, a senior official announced on Sunday that the Consumer Protection Department will present proposals aimed at ensuring the safety of these systems.

Dr. Hashim Al-Nuaimi, Director of the Consumer Protection Department at the Ministry of Economy, stated that the ministry's actions include new standards for cruise control systems. They will be visiting car manufacturers and conducting awareness campaigns for drivers.
Statistics on Recalls
Al-Nuaimi pointed out that the Ministry of Economy has requested 176 recalls over the past 18 months, with 80% requiring vehicle repairs.

He also mentioned that visits to leading car manufacturers will take place to stay updated on the latest developments in cruise control systems and to determine what new standard safety features should be implemented for this crucial device.
