Mclaren 570S: The Ultimate Daily Supercar

Introduction
Mclaren has taken a significant amount of time to focus on developing supercars and sports cars for daily drivers. The last road-legal Mclaren was the F1, and it has been about two decades since Mclaren focused on any road car after that. They did develop the Mercedes SLR Mclaren, but that was more of a Mercedes than a Mclaren. Things changed with the introduction of the MP4-12C, which served as a launchpad for the future. The MP4-12C was later replaced by the stunning 650S. However, it was still a supercar, not exactly an affordable daily driver. Mclaren has now answered that question with the all-new 570S.
Exterior

The Mclaren 570S is unmistakably a Mclaren from the moment you lay your eyes on it. In my opinion, this baby Mclaren looks much better than its elder sibling, the 650S. The signature scissor doors are present, adding character to the car. The rear end resembles a honey bee, contributing to the overall aesthetic. The car’s cute appearance, especially in the vibrant orange color I tested, attracted attention on the roads. I was frequently approached by curious onlookers asking about the details of the car, as it was not registered in the UAE. Clearly, the 570S is a looker.

Interior

The interior of the Mclaren 570S is closely related to the 650S, but the overall feel is enhanced. The ride quality is comfortable, making entry and exit from the car an effortless task. Mclaren has truly listened to feedback and designed the vehicle to satisfy the needs of daily drivers. The touchscreen infotainment system has improved and is now more user-friendly. The interior materials combine leather and carbon fiber, resulting in a high-quality finish. In summary, the interior is well-made, offering a go-kart seating position for an exhilarating driving experience.

Drive

The Mclaren 570S is not your typical supercar with common supercar issues. Instead, it represents Mclaren’s take on the 911 Turbo. Mclaren has explicitly stated that with the 570S, they aim to increase their production volume. The strategy involved creating a more affordable, slightly underpowered version of the 650S that remains comfortable for everyday driving while still being undeniably a Mclaren. The vehicle features a 3.8-liter twin-turbo engine, producing a 'mere' 562 BHP. This model is essentially the MP4-12C presented in a more appealing design. The 0-100 km/h sprint takes approximately 3.2 seconds, and the car halts from 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds, thanks to its incredible brakes. The 570S is thrilling around corners, sticking to the tarmac with ease and urging you to drive faster. Once the turbo kicks in, the sensation of g-force is exhilarating and worth the investment.
Verdict

Taking all factors into consideration, I would choose the Mclaren 570S over the 650S. It truly is a daily supercar.
